Brand New Ice Cream Concept Coming Soon to Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Although New England tends to be a spot where, regardless of whether it's 90 degrees or -19 degrees outside, we'll still order iced coffee and cold brew without thinking twice.
But when the warmer spring weather rolls into the area, thoughts of everything summertime automatically come with it.
Lake trips, beach vacations, cookouts, cocktails on decks overlooking the water, seafood -- and, of course, the metaphorical icing on the cake -- ice cream.
And a brand new style of ice cream is making its way to Northern New England very soon.
Oro Ice Cream, Portsmouth, New Hampshire
While there's no exact opening date hammered down yet, a brand new ice cream concept has confirmed to be on the way to the Market Square area of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, at least to start.
Posted by one of the co-owners of what will be known as Oro Ice Cream in The (un)Official City of Portsmouth, NH group on Facebook, Trevor Leger mentioned that Oro will start off near Market Square, with hopes to expanding to the West End sometime in 2025.
That ice cream concept that's going to be very new to Northern New England, by the way? New Zealand style ice cream.
What is New Zealand Ice Cream?
According to Far Out Ice Cream, a business with locations in Brookline, Massachusetts, and in the Fenway neighborhood of Massachusetts, that actually sells the deliciousness, New Zealand style ice cream is known better as real fruit ice cream and is basically the combination of typical hard ice cream, blended with real frozen fruit to create soft serve amazingness often served with a vanilla ice cream base.
While no exact opening date is known yet, Trevor did mention in his post on Facebook that Oro will be open, mobile, and operational in time for summer. And, the cool part, is you could actually have a hand in helping decide what flavor combinations they offer.
You can stay up to date on Oro Ice Cream's opening and upcoming tasting event on their Facebook page and on their Instagram page.
