Nor’easter Closes the Maine Mall and Cancels Flights at Jetport – Here Are Snowfall Totals So Far
Yep. It's a big one. Roads are treacherous, visibility is down, and flights are cancelled and it's not over yet.
The Maine Mall closed at 1PM but anchor stores with their own entrances may stay open longer. Call ahead to find out.
Most flights at the Portland Jetport have been cancelled with only one showing on time for 6:55 this evening. Call ahead for info or check the status of flights on the Jetport website.
CBS 13 Meteorologist Charlie Lopresti reports that some places already have over half of foot of snowfall.
Here are snowfall totals as of 1PM, about four hours into the storm.
New Gloucester: 8
North Berwick: 8.1
Portland Jetport: 2.2
Steep Falls: 5.2
Things should start to wind down 8 or 9 this evening with the potential to dump up to a foot on parts of Maine, but the coast is still in the bullseye of the storm.
If you don't have to drive, don't. Stay hope and stay safe. If you must be on the road, be prepared with a charged and ready cell phone and take it slow.
Nothing is worth risking your safety by driving faster than conditions warrant.
