Zippia, the career website, decided to celebrate national junk food day, by deciding every states' favorite one for workers.

I have to say, these surveys are silly, but I always click to see - what does Maine like?

When I found out - I have to say, I was SO DISAPPOINTED!

Can't read that? It says RITZ CRACKERS. That's Maine's favorite junk food? That's not even a junk food. No one ever says, 'Hey...let's sneak some RITZ CRACKERS!'

You sneak Oreos (a favorite in 5 states).

How did Zippia come up with this crazy list? Did they only interview working grandmas?

No, according to them,

Using Google Trends, we determined which states were the most avid fans of each snack. We examined 45 different favorite snacks, given us a wide range of beloved foods. We, being sane reasonable humans, excluded gum and sodas from our pretend vending machine snack roulette. Hopefully, you don’t swallow gum. Plus, liquid isn’t a snack- it’s a liquid. We then selected a range of popular chips, cookies, candies, and a few other vending machine favorites.

What vending machine has Ritz crackers? Now, don't get me wrong - I love a Ritz. I love them mashed up on my baked haddock. But they are certainly not my go-to junk food.

Even North Dakota liking sunflower seeds seems more reasonable. Sure, sunflower seeds aren't really junk food, more a snack. And yes... I have seen them in a vending machine.

But Ritz... come on, Maine. Don't we seem more like a Doritos kinda state?
