Sunday River held its 20th annual “Skiing Santas” event on Sunday, and this year, over 200 Santas showed up to help kickoff the holiday skiing season and raise money for the  River Fund, a local charity with the goal of creating educational and recreational opportunities and experiences that can truly change kids’ lives.

The mountain was packed with skiers and snowboarders all dressed up like Santa, including that big white beard, and red suits cruising down the slopes to South Ridge.

All of the participating Santas got a free lift ticket to the resort for helping raise money.

The annual event is not only for a great cause, it's also been featured on the Travel Channel and, let's face it, there are some amazing photo ops all day.

Up next for Sunday River is a huge 60th birthday celebration for the mountain known as Winterfest.

This coming weekend (Dec 13th-14th) will be about fun on snow plus a ton of activities to celebrate. This is the weekend that night skiing and snowboarding opens for the season for just $6.00.
