When NECCO's CEO announced at the beginning of March that they may close their factory doors in Massachusetts forever if they don't find a buyer in 60 days, NECCO wafer lovers like me have been grabbing all the rolls we can.

According to CandyStore.com, the panic is real. When the news broke, NECCO wafer sales went up by a whopping 63%.

As of this writing no buyer has been found which means that the wafers along with Conversation Hearts, Mary Janes, Clark Bars, Candy Buttons and Squirrel Nut Zippers could all become a part of history.

There's a movement on social media to #SaveNECCO and people are very passionate about their beloved candy.

Even people who have never even tried NECCO wafers are Tweeting their support.

Let's hope someone saves NECCO not only for the jobs of our New England neighbors, but for those of us who love their wafers. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy two things that put me in my happy place.
