Lisbon Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed the Rusty Lantern convenience store in Lisbon Falls on January 22.

According to a press release and Facebook post by the Lisbon Police Department, Surveillance footage showed a man dressed in a yellow Under Armor hoodie and wearing a blue ski mask walked into the Rusty Lantern, showed a gun to the clerk behind the counter and demanded everything.

These photos from the surveillance camera were provided by Lisbon Police in hopes that someone might be able to identify the suspect.

The second photo provided is particularly frightening. I can't imagine how scary it must have been for the person behind the counter.

As store clerks are always instructed, if a robbery takes place, do everything the suspect asks and let them go, then call the police. That's exactly what this person did and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Lisbon Police responded quickly and searched for the man with the help of the Topsham Police Department as well as the Androscoggin and Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Offices.

Police have specifically asked that anyone in the area of the Rusty Lantern or Downtown Lisbon Falls to check any cameras they have, such as a Nest or Ring camera that may have captured any information that can be useful to them. The robbery occurred around 5:50 a.m. on January 22.

I lived in Lisbon for several years and my son still lives and goes to school there. Lisbon is the kind of town you would never expect something like this to happen in, as you would any small town in Maine. I really hope this man is caught.

If you have any information that can help Lisbon Police identify the subject, please call Detective Richard St. Amant at 207-353-2500 ext #1.
