Portland Police posted a reminder about the laws in Maine requiring drivers to stop for school buses a few weeks after a mom in Florida shot video of cars passing her child's stopped bus.

Most of us know what you must stop for a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop sign is extended. Some people however don't think that applies with multiple lane roads.

This mother from Pasco County Florida had enough and called the Sheriff's Department about driver passing her child's stopped school bus every day. So several officers set up at the next intersection from the stopped bus and ticketed 30 drivers who zoomed past the bus.

Portland Police posted this graphic on their Facebook page Monday, reminding people that you must stop in all directions and in all lanes for any stopped school bus with flashing lights. The only exception is a road divided with a median where drivers coming in the opposite direction should proceed with caution.
