WGME.com is reporting that Casco Bay High School will remain closed today because of a threat made against some students that attend that school.

According to the article, Portland's superintendent decided to close the school today as a safety precaution.

Portland Police are investigating the threat that they say came from a person who does not attend Casco Bay High School. The website reports that the threat came in yesterday afternoon on social media and was directed specifically at about 20 Casco Bay students. Police were called to the school around 3pm after a student alerted a teacher of the threat. There was no lockdown and students were allowed to leave at their normal time yesterday, according to the article.

The situation is currently under investigation with the school department putting additional security measures in place to protect students and faculty. It is not known if Casco Bay High School will be closed Thursday as well.

Portland Police are asking people to call the department (207.874.8300) if they have any information about the threat.
