It looks like President Donald Trump will come to Maine on Friday, despite Governor Janet Mills saying it could cause security issues.

The Bangor Daily News said that news of President Trump's trip here Friday came from a phone call with the President and Governors. Gov. Mills discouraged a visit from Trump because of security concerns. It appears that Trump wants to go to Puritan Medical Products in Guilford. They are one of two worldwide manufacturers of the medical swabs you need for the coronavirus test. They used 75.5 million dollars under the federal Defense Production Act to make more swabs in their Pittsfield plant starting in April.

Governor Janet Mills tried to convince the President his trip would be more trouble than it's worth for security reasons. No word if the trip will happen at the Puritan facility in Pittsfield. If plans go forward, it would be Trump's first visit to Maine since his 2016 campaign.
