There Are No Purple Apples at Orchards in New England
Purple apples? Are there people asking about purple apples at orchards this year?
I was at Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook, Maine, over the weekend, and I actually overheard a group of girlies talking about these purple apples they saw online and how they can't wait to see if it's true.
Sorry to disappoint, but there are no purple apples at orchards in New England.
It all started with a viral Instagram post, of course, featuring a fake AI image that looks so real. You can see the post that made the internet do... well, what the internet does.
A.I. is so wild. It generated this picture-perfect purple apple tree, which according to Yahoo, is allegedly from Saskatchewan, Canada, and has people all over the world, including New England losing their minds.
Rachelle Hofmeister, a horticulturist at Dutch Growers in Regina, Saskatchewan, told Yahoo that while it's a fun picture, it's not real.
This has gotten so intense so quickly. In what world did we all just completely lose our brains and start believing the internet?
Would it be great if there were purple apples in New England? Sure. I certainly love the optimism.
Will you be going apple picking this fall season? Where's your favorite place to get some real apples?
