Report: Armed Residents Block Driveway in Vinalhaven to Force Quarantine

According to the Portland Press Herald, someone called the police about several armed people cutting down a tree and dragging it to block a driveway to force someone to quarantine.

This is being investigated by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

The newspaper stated that people allegedly cut down a tree and dragged it to a driveway to keep people from leaving their home.

Someone called the U.S. Coast Guard saying that people with guns cut a tree down and were telling other people to stay quarantined, according to the Press Herald.

By the time any law enforcement showed up, the group was gone.

There is no word on who had their driveway blocked, but this incident seemed to be targeting a specific home, the sheriff's department stated in the article.

There have been reports that several towns are asking their seasonal residents to self quarantine.
