The day was a brisk one but it didn't stop many of us from guiding our jolly old elf throughout the beloved Capital of Maine. The best thing about the holidays is the warm connection to the community and this particular event brought kinship and festive feelings to all that attended.

This weekend, The City of Augusta, Augusta Fire Department, Augusta Police Department, Maine National Guard, 92 Moose, B98.5, and many beloved holiday characters escorted Santa Claus and his friends on a tour of Augusta!

There are so many different events that take place during this festive season and as the 12 Day's of Augusta Holidays Events continues, Santas Tour of Augusta was a show stopper! This particular celebration was very special. I personally have never heard of Santa being able to come to a town and take a tour of almost 50 city streets!

Santa was a busy man and was not able to ride down every single street but managed to wave to hundreds of children and families on a route that included almost 50 streets. A flyer was sent out describing which roads Santa and his friends would tour and families were prepped and set up with blankets and chairs, awaiting the magic of Santa's smile.

The tour started at the Buker Community Center at 1:00pm and with the help of the Moose Caboose, we blasted holiday music for the whole city to hear! We toured the streets surrounding the Capitol Building and Governors Mansion and visited Lincoln School, Gilbert School, and Farrington School as well as all the surrounding streets.

Along for the ride were the Who-ville characters, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and of course the Grinch was there to cause trouble, just to name a few.

We were blessed by the presence of the Maine National Guard in their huge tank that I was able to tour as well as the men and woman of our Fire Department and Police Department who is always guarding and protecting our city.

This tour was one for the books and I can't wait until we do it again next year, hopefully, it will be a bit warmer!

Please check out the photos of the event below brought to you by Photographer, Dave Dostie who braved the cold temperatures to bring you the best moments from the event!
