According to the petition to save The Cookie Jar, they once again face the Cape Elizabeth Planning Board pushing to eliminate the bakery's four front parking spaces. Owners Donna and Tom Piscopo, know that this is more than just a bakery, it's a part of Cape Elizabeth's history and important to generations of families.

The owners say that these four front parking spaces are critical for customer access. According to the petition,
Without these parking spaces, the bakery may no longer be able to operate.
Public outcry stopped this from happening in 2022
The planning board tried to take those critical parking spots away a couple of years ago, but the public made them stop...temporarily, and the issue is back. They would like the Town Council to step in and protect the Cookie Jar and other small businesses in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
