The Portland Jetport in Maine Has Plans to Make Parking Easier
The Portland International Jetport handles around two million passengers a year and many of those passengers arrive by car and have to find a place to park. That's not always an easy task, especially around Thanksgiving, one of the Jetport's busiest times of the year.
The jetport knows that parking is a problem, and now they are taking steps to make it easier for you to find a space.
New Parking Lots Coming Soon
WMTW 8 reports that the Portland Jetport is planning to expand parking over another 5 and a half acres of land owned by the City of Portland, which owns the Jetport. The land will be repurposed into two separate lots.
Planning Began Before the COVID-19 Pandemic
Like so many other things in the world that came to a stop during COVID-19 pandemic, air travel decreased significantly as well and plans for the new parking were put on hold. Now, the time is right to transform the unused land into more parking.
684 Additional Parking Spaces
The unused space is set to be converted into parking lots will have 684 spaces between the two lots. There's no word exactly where the lots will be, how far they will be away from the terminal, and when they plan to complete construction. Regardless, those 684 spaces no matter where they are on Jetport property, are a big boost that is very much needed to accommodate all the people flying out of the busy Portland International Jetport.
