5 Wintery Things To Do This Weekend Despite The Rain
Alright, so it may not be looking terribly Christmasy in Portland besides the gorgeous lights up - we're swimming in the streets with an occasional leftover glacier here and there. But that shouldn't stop you from getting into the holiday spirit as you flip your calendars to December! Here are some fun things to do around Portland that will have you humming Jingle Bells in no time.
Get Your Skate On
The Rink at Thompson's Point will begin offering all day skating passes, season passes, gift cards and rental skates on Saturday, 12/1. Think ahead for stocking stuffers and brush up on your tricks!
Wander a Wonderland of Lights
The Maine Botanical Gardens will be alight and open for your perusing this Saturday as well! From 4-9pm you can wander through a wonderland of lights for only $14 per adult, $8 per kid, with discounts for seniors, families, and kids under 3 (they're free!)
Get your picture taken with your dog... and Santa!
Beat the masses heading to the mall for portraits with Santa and hit up Planet Dog in Portland this Saturday to get your Christmas card ready. Pics are $10 a pop. Why take pictures with your family when you can take one with your dog?!
Snuggle with Alpacas
If you wanna get back to your farming roots (we all have those if we go back far enough, right?) get your butt to Yarmouth and ring in the holiday season with the alpacas at Estabrooks on Saturday or Sunday!
Join In On the Fun at The Evergreen Holiday Fair
Listen to this: hot, homemade soup and bread from 11-1pm. Gifts and stocking stuffers with lovingly knit warm mittens, gingerbread house decorating, silent auction, gift cards to your favorite stores, and a Second Time Around shop for high quality, good-as-new items. Sound like a fun time? I thought so. Head to Yarmouth for the Evergreen Holiday Fair!
