Despite the rumors, get ready Auburn.

Nothing has changed according to the Sun Journal who spoke with a spokeswoman from Darden Restaurants, the parent company of Olive Garden. They are still going to open in Auburn where the old Ruby Tuesday used to be on Turner Street.

They've already torn down the building and now they have to design and build the 6,600-square-foot restaurant. It's easy to see how Auburn thought this wasn't going to happen as there is just a cleared area where something WILL be built. Since it's in the early stages, there aren't any more details except that they are hoping to start construction this summer and open in 2023.

Meanwhile, is The Cheesy Skillet open?

Cheese, from the appetizers to the desserts at The Cheesy Skillet. They announced plans to open their first at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport in Auburn. But that's only the first of hopefully many. The first of many (fingers crossed) opens this week!

It's not you, Auburn is having a big year!

Business is booming in Auburn. Commercial building permits have been at an almost record pace. Between new restaurants and other businesses, the biggest is a huge expansion to the Proctor and Gamble's Tambrands production facility on Hotel Road. Auburn thinks they are on track to have an even better year than last year which was a record year.
