There’s an Exorcist Looking for Demons to Eat in Scarborough, Maine
There are plenty of articles on the internet that feature provocative titles but don't really deliver after you've clicked. Occasionally though, the headline tells you exactly what is going on with no extra sauce needed. This is one of those times, and it's likely to leave a few people who live in Scarborough, Maine, wondering what's going on and whether or not they need to dial up Father Karras immediately.
Found on Craigslist, someone posted an ad proclaiming themselves to be an exorcist desperately in search of demons "to eat". While this entire ad (which you can read below) may seem absolutely bookers to you, whomever scribed it seems to possess great knowledge of exorcisms and wholeheartedly believes their process to be effective. Most of us have probably never considered the idea of ridding unwanted spirits as "eating" them, but everyone has their way of describing things.
Exorcisms in Maine are not exactly a new thing. According to WGME, a family called on a priest after various encounters inside their house in Houlton, Maine, left them believing it was haunted. The house was built in 1887, and during a renovation period, the contractors discovered old belongings and a picture of a family hanging inside the walls of the old home. After a series of unexplained noises and eerie feelings, the priest was called in with the hopes that he'd be able to rid the home of whatever spiritual being may be inhabiting the space.
