This Map Shows The Most Important Inventions From Each State And I Don’t Think Maine’s Is Correct
MidAmerica Nazarene University put out a list to highlight the most important contributions from each state. It's no surprise that the assembly line was invented in Michigan, but did you know the television was invented in Idaho? Or that the Farmer's Almanac comes from New Hampshire?
When it comes to Maine however there is a bit of controversy. According to this list, the dive suit was invented in Dixfield, Maine by Leonard Norcross in 1834. According to Wikipedia, the dive suit was invented by two English inventors in the 1700s. Leonard may have had the first patent for the dive suit, but he didn't invent it.
