It’s been two years since the death of Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots player convicted of murder, but the public’s fascination with him continues.

Hernandez was convicted of killing Odin Lloyd in 2013.

One week from today, Netflix will debut its new three-part documentary “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez." According to WCVB 5, the series will be similar in nature to “Making a Murderer” and “Evil Genius."

I remember working in Providence when Hernandez was arrested at his home in Attleboro, Massachusetts, just about 20 minutes away. There was constant news coverage, and it seemed like everyone around me had an Aaron Hernandez story and were in a state of disbelief.

The question that kept being asked over and over was “how could someone who had it all, throw it all away?”… and that’s exactly what the documentary will try to answer.

Masslive.com says that the trailer begins with the statement “No one has allegedly murdered two people then played an entire season as a professional athlete.”

The article says that Hernandez is called both “kind” and a “ticking time bomb” and includes audio from Hernandez himself.

According to Netflix, there is a Pandora’s box of secrets” still to be uncovered. The series debuts on January 15th
