It was a short journey from South Portland for the 40 foot blue spruce that will be this season's Christmas Tree in Monument Square.

From loading it on the hauler to unloading it with the help of a huge crane from Keeley Crane Services and the hard work of the forestry section of Portland’s Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department, crews and equipment and Shaw Brothers Construction; and Portland police and Portland parking control.

Now with the tree up and in place the workers can begin the daunting process of stringing up the over 5,000 lights and have it ready for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday the 23rd.
