Maine really is a "foodie" state.  Sure, there are plenty of people who will never eat anything but chicken tenders, cheeseburgers, and fries, but the majority of locals and visitors will go out of their way to try new things.

Because of how creative our chefs and bakers have become, most of our restaurants serve up some really interesting dishes.

For example, The Holy Donut makes some of the best donuts in the country.  Thanks to the fact that they include potatoes in the dough, the donuts all have a really unique, super dense, texture.  Anyone who has ever had a donut from The Holy Donut knows exactly what I am talking about.

This brings me to my next point...  What's the deal with Fielder's Choice ice cream?

I love all ice cream, but I am a huge fan of the ice cream you get from Fielder's Choice!  It really is one of the top three ice cream places I have ever been to.

There are so many things to love about the place.  First, the servings are massive (the smallest size is big enough for the average adult) and they are very affordable.  Me and the kids all had ice cream for less than $10.  The place also offers some really unique hard ice cream flavors.  The place is also open all year long in many of their locations.

What Makes Fielder's Choice Ice Cream So Different?

I am hoping I am not the only one who has noticed that their ice cream has a really unique texture.  Their hard ice cream is extra thick, extra creamy, and almost sticky.

It is one of the things I really like about it.  That texture makes it feel like a super high quality product.

So, what makes their ice cream like it is?  Not that I want to steal some secret family recipe.  I am just genuinely curious.

If there is something I am missing, please let me know.  Send me a message inside our radio station app or message me on Facebook.
