Do you think they have a tree already too?

There have been some great Halloween displays, but as I was driving around I saw Santa! I know him!

As much as I like the jolly fellow, seeing him over two months before his big night is slightly disturbing. I'm all for the holiday spirit, but damn - this is by far the earliest I've seen Santa in a long time!

I think we all have our own timeline for when the boxes of Christmas decorations come out. For me, it's Black Friday - that glorious day after Thanksgiving. To work off all that turkey, stuffing, and pie it's time to drag a tree into the house. That gives that poor thing about a month to hang onto its needles and smell nice. Then by the time the worst month of the year rolls around, January - it's time to chuck it to the sidewalk or out to the woods behind the house.

What's the earliest you start decorating the front yard? Have you ever hung a light or blown up an inflatable Santa in October? I saw this Santa on October 21, but I have no idea how long Jolly St. Nick has been hiding behind trees at this house in Falmouth.

It's weird to see Santa while my windows are down and the sunroof is open. Normally, I see Santa in mid-December after he's been working his tail off and just needs a week to himself.

Too early or never too early to celebrate the holidays?
