Have you ever had Electricity Maine as your electricity provider? A $35 million class-action lawsuit filed against them could get you some money back in the future.

Electricity Maine is one of several companies you can choose from to provide you with electricity. Central Maine Power handles the delivery while other companies provide the power.

According to the Portland Press Herald, a $35 million dollar class-action lawsuit was filed in US District Court in Portland last week alleging that Electricity Maine promised savings that they didn't deliver on.

The suit claims that Electricity Maine would sign you up at a low rate and the later, jack the prices up to a rate that was more than the standard offer you get it you elect to not choose a power provider.

A judge will have to hear the case, but if there is a ruling against Electricity Maine, you may see some money back in your pocket if you are or were a customer. Stay tuned.
