I've lived in Maine my whole life and my grandfather was a lobster fisherman. Everyone just assumes if you live in Maine that you must love lobster. However, until this year, I've never eaten lobster. And until yesterday, I'd never eaten a lobster roll. Thanks to Ken's Place in Scarborough, I've experienced my first lobster roll and now I can't to try all the lobster rolls in Maine.

Ken's Place heard we were talking about my Summer of Seafood on air last week and heard I chose their place to try my first lobster roll. We know Ken's Place is incredibly generous already (they're huge supporters of Cans for a Cure) but when they offered to treat Lori, Jeff, and I to lobster rolls, we knew we'd be in for a special treat. As manager Jillian put it, "The only thing better than a Ken's Place lobster roll is a FREE Ken's Place lobster roll."

Not only did we get treated to phenomenal lobster rolls, but Jillian brought out the biggest tray of fried seafood I've ever seen and lobster bisque for all three of us. My Summer of Seafood is off to an incredible start. I loved the fried shrimp, scallops, and clams. Lori and Jeff actually fought over the fried scallops.

Then there was the lobster roll. It was the perfect classic Maine lobster roll with a grilled hot dog roll, just enough mayo, and a healthy serving of lobster that was perfectly satisfying for a first timer.

Thank you so much to Ken's Place, Jillian St. Lewis, and owner David Wilcox for making my first time extra special and memorable. I'll be back this summer. I'm so full from all that incredible food that I'll need at least a few weeks to get my appetite back.
