It looks like you're going to have to wait a little while longer for the new Target location.

We first heard that the retailer was going to be going into the old K-Mart location back in December.  At the time, it appeared that the store would open sometime in mid or late 2021.  Now, it looks like that has been delayed significantly.

According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, K-Mart held the property until early summer.  After they gave up the space, Target started a nearly $10 million renovation and addition to the space.  That addition adds nearly 2,000 square feet to the building, bringing the usable space to over 110,000 square feet.

At this point, they are looking at opening sometime in late 2022.

There is still no word on what kiosk businesses could be joining Target.  For example, the Augusta location has a Starbucks and an express Pizza Hut restaurant.

Currently, Target has stores in the state in Augusta, Topsham, South Portland, Biddeford and Bangor.
