Don't you love a good underdog? There's really nothing better than discovering a spot you haven't seen pushed out on social media a million times, then falling in love with it. So when Spoon University put together this list of the most underrated restaurants in every state, I just had to check out what place they slotted for Maine.

They chose Jordan Pond House out in Seal Harbor, Maine, and to my understanding, they're very well-known for their popovers.

Here's the fun twist. They're so well-known and loved by their customers that one of them wrote a detail-oriented, step-by-step guidebook so you can bake the famous popovers right at home. Talk about a date night. We love to see it.

According to Through Her Looking Glass, "These popovers are known regionally as the best popovers in New England, and they’re not hard to make."

If I've got any bakers out there, I'll start you out by leaving a list of all the ingredients I saw on Through Her Looking Glass, which you'll need to get started. Then I'll hand over the website that explains the directions to you so you can take it from there. Yum!

  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Speck of baking soda

The rest is history. Here's your guide to the most famous popovers in New England.
