The Lewiston Maine Police Department does not get enough credit.

They're a busy group. Most city police departments are busy. But Lewiston police have had a tough year with the mass shooting happening in their city. But that doesn't mean they don't still have time to help one citizen having a tough go. On Lewiston Rock's Facebook page, one woman wanted to make sure people knew how much they meant to her.

I want to thank the nice police officer who helped me get unstuck early this AM. I was at end of my driveway stuck in the middle of the street. All the towing companies were backed up and not available I had called for roadside assistance through my insurance company. I am on the autism spectrum and my husband isn't the best help due to him having health issues. Since moving to Lewiston almost 9 years ago I have never had so many interactions with police...as far as needing their help. My gratitude goes beyond words. I almost cried when he got my car unstuck. So thank you Lewiston Maine Police Department.

She did not get the officer's name, but comments on this Facebook post were in unison in their thoughts: the Lewiston Police Department is awesome, and they don't get enough credit for it.

That's why we are sharing the story. We don't have the officer's name, and I'm sure he doesn't want the attention. However, if you know who this is, just share with him that it wasn't lost on this woman who needed an extra hand.
