For years, decades, generations, and centuries (hell, probably even millenniums), most children across the universe all have claimed to be blessed with having one thing:

The best Mom ever.

In fact, this writer right here is guilty as charged for claiming to have the World Champion of Moms, and thinks second place isn't even close. And, truly, I hope you feel the same way about your Mom/the Mom in your life.

However, one Maine mother has the chance to prove that she's worthy of the title.

Super Mom Contest

While Maine has endlessly been thrust into the National spotlight (for good reasons) over the years -- mainly related to having the best vacation spot getaways, the best food of a certain type in the country, being the home state of a Guinness World Record holder -- this would certainly be a first.

Because as you're reading this article, West Newfield, Maine, resident, Jackie Chevalier-Madrid, is in the middle of a battle to be named the best mother in the country in the Super Mom contest put on by Colossal.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

On top of hooking the best Mom in the country up with some well-deserved amazingness like a weekend getaway and money, the annual Super Mom contest does legitimate good, raising money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

As of this writing, according to the official Super Mom website, almost $3 million has been raised through the contest.

And when it comes to the Mom that could put Maine on the national map once again, for Jackie, being a mom is the world to her.

Some women don’t get the opportunity and I was blessed twice! When I first found out I was pregnant, I was over the moon excited and had no idea what to do. Lots of happiness but also confusion at the same time. I always wanted 2 kids, close together and wanted them to have a good bond.

It wasn't always smooth sailing, though, according to Jackie.

Being in control of these little ones gave me super anxiety. You always hear about babies passing while sleeping, falling off furniture or choking, etc., and I always feared the worst. Don’t get me wrong it’s super rewarding, but can be scary at the same time. So I have had my share of restless days/nights making sure they were safe.

But Jackie said the joy it's brought her over the years and still does, far outweighs the fear.

The joy it brings me to raise these little humans and just simply have fun with them, fills my heart! Watching their personalities grow from being babies to watching them develop into big kids/pre-teens is simply amazing! It can be difficult at times, but just like everything else in your life you work through it little at a time. Everyone has always told me 'don’t blink' and it’s so true! They grow so fast, so I try my hardest to stay involved in everything and be hands on with them, because It’s the best way for them to learn!

And another reason to route for Jackie to be named the best Mom in the country other than successfully repping Maine? The fact that she's a good human, as evidenced by what she would do with the $20,000, other than pay off some debt and student loans.

I would pay it forward and help someone, since I've received help throughout the years and it would feel good to be able to help someone else in return.

The first cut for Jackie to make it to the next round of being named Super Mom is Thursday, April 25, at 10p EDT. You can find out more about Jackie, cast your vote, and more on her official Super Mom page!
