According to ESPN, the Patriots are trading Rob (Gronk) Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gronkowski retired from the Patriots after the 2018 season but never officially left their roster and remained on inactive status.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed Tuesday that Gronk was traded to Tampa Bay, "pending the physical."

Adam Schefter later tweeted that Gronkowski had taken a physical and is looking to reunite with Tom Brady.

Gronkowski played eight seasons with the New England dynasty and has three Super Bowl rings.

ESPN stated that the New England team will get "a fourth-round draft pick while the Buccaneers also receive a seventh-round pick in the trade."
