Valentine's Day is so funny to me and we're quickly approaching it. Most men will do the obligatory flowers and chocolate on their way home from work but what if that's not really what we want? What if we want something non-traditional on this made-up holiday that has nothing to do with your grocery store flowers and Russel Stover assorted heart candy? As a woman myself, I'll tell you right now flowers on my doorstep is cliche' and so played out which is something men will never be able to comprehend so let me help you.

So, what are some date ideas for Valentine's Day?

1. Take her to a trampoline park. It's a date that writes itself and is guaranteed to make her smile. If running and jumping into a giant foam pit doesn't scream love then I don't know what will. Try Urban Air in South Portland.

2. A trip to Ulta. Instead of the fancy dinner reservation, tell your girl she can fill up a basket of whatever she wants for 20 minutes and when she gets to the register you act like Rico Suave and pull out your debit card. There's a good one in South Portland right by the Maine Mall. I promise you this is a panty dropper. Sorry mom.

Can men get pedicures?

3. Book a pedicure for you both. Suck it up guys. We know you're manly and you'd "never get a pedi", but let's be honest yes you would if nobody knew about it. For one day just let it happen because every girl would die to have their man next to them while they sit through getting their nails done. I bet you'll end up loving it too. Also a panty dropper. Also sorry mom.
