A Cute Baby Zebra Was Just Born at York’s Wild Kingdom in Maine
York's Wild Kingdom had quite the adorable announcement recently.
The popular Southern Maine park was happy to announce the birth of the baby zebra. The little striped cutie is the latest addition to zoo's animal kingdom, one that is very diverse. According to its website, the zoo has over 50 unique species, which of course includes these Grant's zebras.
According to the Austin Zoo, the Grant's zebra is actually the smallest of the subspecies of zebras. However, they can still grow to weigh over 650 pounds. That's large, folks. And, considering how big momma is in those images, I'm not sure I'd want to run into the larger subspecies.
Few details have hit the public about the baby zebra. You would imagine in the coming weeks more information will follow, like its sex and name. But, you can imagine the little guy or gal will be one heck of a popular attraction at the zoo.
The York Wild Kingdom is located right next to York Beach, a prime spot for a tourist attraction. The zoo includes an amusement park, educational opportunities, a special kids zone, and of course an animal kingdom. It remains open through September.
A big congratulations to momma and everyone at the zoo. It's wonderful to see that the zebras are healthy. And if I were to recommend a name, well, Chris always works.
