One thing's for sure, the Old Port certainly has their share of bars, all kinds of bars, you've got pubs, sports bars, clubs, country bars, watering holes, the list goes on and on.

But the one thing the Old Port are has been lacking was a nice wine bar and tasting lounge. That's about to change as Grippy Tannins gets set to open at 16 Middle Street in Portland.

According to PortlandFoodMap.com, Grippy Tannins should be opening soon with much more than just wine. Along with their liquor license application, they supplied a draft menu which includes "complimentary nibbles" like herb popcorn, warm olives, bread and butter, pickled veggies and more. Of course they'll have cheeses of all sorts as well as some seafood like tuna and trout and seasonal dishes and eats.

No opening date has been set but their website says they'll be here "Spring of 2019" so we won't have to wait too much longer.
