Annual Walk to Remember Honors Infant Loss Month
The grief of losing a pregnancy, baby, or child is an unfathomable experience that only those who have experienced it can begin to understand. Parents in Maine are brought together in love and grief every year when The Walk to Remember takes place to honor Pregnancy and Infant Loss Month during October. The Walk raises money for The Colby Fund, an organization that helps support families who have experienced the loss of a child, baby, or pregnancy.
The Colby Fund provides financial, emotional, and other various forms of support to families who have been affected by the death of a child. The organization has just one fundraiser each year on the third Sunday of October. This year, the Walk falls on October 21st. Allison Lynn has a fund raising facebook page set up to collect for the Colby Fund before the Walk, and shared how the group helped them after their daughter Harper was born still in 2017:
"Through the Colby Fund we gained an amazing community who provided many forms of support through one of the most difficult times in our lives."
