The calendar says spring, the Sea Dogs home opener is days away, ice cream stands are opening up. Everything is going according to plan except the snow isn't melting fast enough to kick off one of the best signs of spring, the drive-in movie theater.

The owners of the Bridgton Twin Drive-In was hoping to kick off their 61st season on April 14th with a showing of Fate of the Furious, but with two feet of snow still on the ground and threats of another storm this weekend, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

The opening will have to be pushed off until the lot is clear of snow and with the weather we've been having lately, that puts things up in the air. However they did leave a post a list on their Facebook page of the planned movies and show dates for the upcoming season, so we have that to look forward to. Let's just hope mother nature cooperates this summer with lots of rain free nights to catch a movie under the stars.
