There's a lot to unpack there...

Let's start by telling you a little about Tiffany Jones from Brunswick. She's 51 years old with a dream of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on the African continent of Tanzania. It's the highest peak there at 19,340 feet. She's never climbed mountains before.

Why climb such an infamous mountain? In honor of both her parents who she lost to cancer. She wanted to spread HOPE inspired by a cancer survivor she met...

During this last year, I had been working with Sean Swarner. He had survived 2 terminal cancers as a child and is on a mission to spread HOPE for people affected by cancer. He has climbed 7 tallest summits on 7 continents and skiid to the North and South Pole, the Adventurer's Grand Slam. Now, he takes groups up Kiliminjaro and brings the Hope flag with the names of people affected by cancer to the summit! Over the year he would plant the seed, "you'll see when you get there" I have had this seed planted for a long time. It is NOW that I am making it Happen... But I absolutely can Not do this alone... I am training at the gym, 5 days a week and will be doing local hikes as training... it is the Cost of the trip that is prohibitive, $10,000.

She has never climbed a mountain before this. She started a GoFundMe page to raise the $10,000 needed for the trip. During this time she also found out that she too has cancer. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. This makes the trip even more important and personal to kick cancer's butt! She will be able to do treatments and the climb with some tricky scheduling.

Here's where Grape-Nut cereal comes in! Tiffany Jones was one of nine women nationwide to win a $12,500 cash award last month from Grape-Nuts cereal to pay for her cancer awareness climb up Mount Kilimanjaro this July. Her GoFundMe was around $1500 when all of a sudden she woke up one morning and it was over $13,000! She told me...

At first, I thought it was a prank. No one from Grape-Nuts contacted me. But it was Grape-Nuts. Grape-Nuts was literally my dad’s favorite cereal!

I told Tiffany we would always be bonded as it was my dad's favorite cereal too! He also fought cancer.

The GoFundMe is still active with a new goal of $20,000. She wants to donate the rest to the Dempsey Center and an orphanage at the base of the mountain, the HOPE Center.

Go climb that mountain Tiffany! You are a rockstar and an inspiration to all women! Thank you for all you are doing in honor of those fighting cancer - and here's to your fight. We know you are gonna kick cancer's butt!
