The Henry is up to the task of filling the big empty shoes of Bull Feeney's.

Bull Feeney's was such a staple of the Old Port in Portland for over 20 years. They recently closed for good. To replace them at the historic location on Fore Street is no small job. Good thing it's headed by the Miranda Group. They will open this summer (no specific date has been released) The Henry. According to Portland Old Port, The Henry is...

...a traditional American public house and tavern, is set to open its doors in early summer, continuing the legacy of the iconic building that has been a significant part of Portland’s history.

Here's how you can trust that The Henry is going to be a huge success. This is not the Miranda Group's first rodeo. They have the critically acclaimed Blyth and Burrows, a cocktail bar inspired by the city’s maritime history and a must-visit, Via Vecchia, a fantastic Italian restaurant, and the new Papi, a spectacular Puerto Rican bar/pub on Exchange Street. They know how to create something unique, memorable, delicious, and fun. The new Henry opening in early summer is named in honor of one of Portland's greatest residents, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

The perfect steward for such a historic building. It was rebuilt in 1867 after Portland’s Great Fire, and has been a tailor shop and some of us remember The Seamen’s Club. As you learned in school, Portland’s Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was a poet who celebrated the working class. Get ready to have your new favorite Old Port hang-out opening soon!
