It's back and they could open later this month.

When the news that Fat Boys was closed and for sale happened in December, a lot of people were bummed out.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the owners for the past 30 years (the place has been around since the mid 50's) Ken and Jeanne Burton are just tired. It takes a lot to run the place and they are pooped.

When it went on the market for 1.15 million dollars, there was a lot of interest...but then that interest faded and three months later, it hasn't sold. They know it's a high asking price, but they also know what the business does and they think the price is fair.

But with no buyer, the Burtons decided to open it themselves this season and play it by ear. They are shooting for a grand opening at the end of March, but you never know what Maine will bring for weather.

They still want to sell it, but they want someone to buy it and keep the tradition of Fat Boys alive. They know it's gonna take a lot of hard work and dedication - but they also know it's worth it.
