One of the most controversial movies is a sweet looking movie about dogs called, 'A Dog's Purpose'. Movie Mom researched the controversy and talks about whether or not she recommends the movie.

She does. She saw the horrible looking video of the German Shepard seemingly being forced into water and then being rescued. The producer, an avid animal lover (leaving all his wealth to animal rescue) said that video was edited to look horrible and that what happened wasn't that bad and that the dog is just fine.

He does however think that the company in charge of making sure animals are okay on all sets is terrible and should be replaced. Based on statements made, Movie Mom DOES recommend the movie saying it is a sweet, loving story about dogs and their spirits.

The other movie out this week is 'Gold' the true story of Kenny Wells, a prospector desperate for a lucky break, who teams up with a similarly eager geologist and sets off on a journey to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia.

The best part of the movie is that Matthew McConaughey really got into it. Gained 30 pounds, shaved his head and added a snaggle tooth. DON'T GOOGLE THE TRUE STORY OR YOU WILL SPOIL IT. That being said, Movie Mom just thought it was okay. Not a strong recommendation.

Then there is 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter'. Movie Mom gave up on this series a couple of chapters ago. You're on your own.

On DVD, 'The Light Between Oceans' a bittersweet story of love and loss and the terrible 3rd installment of Dan Brown's series, 'Inferno' with Tom Hanks. As Movie Mom point out, they just keep getting worse!
