To help the environment, Dunkin' is getting rid of all foam cups. That means the New England tradition of double-cupping has to go away...

According to the Boston Globe, by the end of the month, the foam cups will be gone from Dunkins throughout New England. That means that the tradition that supposedly started in Rhode Island of double-cupping, is going away. Double-cupping is when you put your plastic iced-coffee cup inside a foam cup.

Double-cupping is awesome. It keeps your cold drink cold while keeping your hands dry. But that's not going to be possible anymore, and Dunkin' knows you aren't happy about that. So much so, they actually have started the #doublecupbreakup campaign and have catchy slogans like 'Consciously Un-cup-ling' and 'The Double Cup is Breaking Up.'

Some stores are giving away Koozies to help ease your withdrawal...

Dunkin' knows that change isn't easy, and they get that the foam coffee cup was kinda perfect. But they have searched high and low for their new double-walled cup. It's not perfect and is also not recyclable (a plastic lining and a plastic lid took care of that). But it does get 1 BILLION foam cups out of the waste system...and for that, we'll deal.
