Local late night talk show The Nite Show with Danny Cashman just received the Arts & Culture Award from the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and he got a congrats from one of his biggest fans, Marc Summers.

If you've never seen The Nite Show, it's a Maine based late night talk show hosted by Danny Cashman who is a fan of the classic talk show format of legends like Johnny Carson and David Letterman. He's gotten some big name guests too including Patrick Dempsey, Ed Asner, John Davidson and even Count von Count from Sesame Street.

A video posted on Facebook by Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications, shows a montage of clips from to honor The Nite Show for receiving the the Arts & Culture Award from the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce.

One of those clips is from Marc Summers the host of the original Double Dare on Nickelodeon. Danny was a big Double Dare fan as a kid. So much so that he would host his own Double Dare games. I can totally relate as I did the exact same thing as a kid with my home versions of The Price is Right and Family Feud.

Since Dan reached out to his idol, Marc Summers has appeared on the The Nite Show several times and the two have become close friends. Marc even invited Dan out to see the set of the new Double Dare last year.

In the video Marc talks about Dan and how much he admires him saying "For my money, the guy is just as good as many of the folks I see on network and syndicated television."

Congrats to Dan and all of the staff and students that make The Nite Show what it is. It's an award well deserved.

You can watch The Nite Show with Danny Cashman Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on Fox 23 and 1 a.m. on WGME 13.
