It's so funny because pre-covid nobody cared about Maine and they said things like, "you couldn't pay me to move all the way out in the middle of no where".

Interesting because post-covid Maine seems to be the one place everybody talks about wanting to move to.

Have you guessed which town is being taken over the most yet? If you guessed Portland like I did we're both insanely wrong, and I mean just not even close.

Sanford, Maine fastest growing city 2025

Yup, you read that correctly. Sanford has become the fastest growing city and I'm absolutely shocked it wasn't Lewiston.

"From 2010-2020, Sanford added a whopping 11,387 residents. That was more than the rest of the top five on this list combined. That population growth made Sanford one of the 500 fastest-growing cities in America during that timeframe" - WCYY

Westbrook, Maine

In at #2 on the list is Westbrook and Portland #3. Westbrook has really come so far in the past 10 years. I just moved here from Portland not too long ago because of it.

You're right on the outskirts of the city so you don't have to feel like an outcast if you don't live downtown but you also don't have to deal with "city b.s" and you can fill in those blanks I'm sure.

Though Sanford is the number 1 fastest growing city here, that doesn't mean other cities aren't rapidly following suit.

I never thought I'd say this, but while Sanford is the top dog here, there's actually many other cities on their way to entering that same category.

Here's a list of the top 20 fastest growing cities.
