For 65 years, Flo's Hot Dogs has hardly changed, and customers wouldn't have it any other way.

Florence Stacy bought the business on Route 1 in Cape Neddick in 1959 and operated it for 14 years. Then she sold it to her son and daughter-in-law, John and Gail Stacy, who have operated it ever since. For any business to stay around for 65 years, is quite an accomplishment.

What makes Flo's Hot Dogs so special? Most people will say it's Flo's special relish. The ingredients are a secret, but you can't have a Flo's hot dog with the relish. It's actually for sale online and you can enjoy it at home.

For Flo's 60th anniversary, News Center Maine aired a story about Flo's history.

Tourists have found Flo's Hot Dogs and rave about it including this father and daughter in this TikTok video who visited Flo's and recalled the time when daughter Samantha went to Flo's for the first time when she was really young.

Those hot dogs look amazing! They're steamed because that's how we do it in Maine, and then they're topped with that secret Flo's relish.

If you've never been to Flo's keep in mind its cash only and the menu is simple. Hot dogs, chips, milk, and soda. If you hit it at busy times, be prepared to wait as the line can often be out the door. Word gets around.

Flo's is open year-round, Thursday through Sunday 11 to 3, and is closed Monday through Wednesday and the entire month of February. You can find them at
1359 Route 1 in Cape Neddick, Maine.
