Hannaford Supermarkets Have Redesigned Their Deli Bags Again, and They’re Awesome
The experts at Hannaford Supermarkets have just upped their deli bag game, and are now packing your meats and cheeses in a new bag that is a big upgrade from the previous one. This is their third bag design, and they seem to have fixed all the issues.
The problem with their original deli bag was the sticker used to seal it. It would often rip a hole in the bag when you peeled it off.
In 2020, they realized they needed to make a change, and started using a perforated sticker. When you peeled the tab, it would separate, with half the sticker on each side of the opening of the bag.
This works great as long as the scale sticker with the weight and price printed on it doesn't cover the fold in the bag. The people at the deli are very busy packing these bags, and it's very easy for the sticker to be placed where it might tear. We get that.
When I went to Hannaford on Riverside Street recently, the bags were changed again, but this time, I think they have it down.
I grab pre-packed deli items because I love grab and go, and look what I found my pepperoni in.
The round sticker is gone, and in its place is a perforation on the bag itself, with instructions that say "Tear along the perforated line". There are also instructions for the person at the deli to "Place scale label below the line." Check out how easily I open this package of nice provolone cheese.
This is a complete game-changer! If your Hannaford doesn't have these bags yet, they'll probably start showing up very soon.
