Here’s One Way to Get $5 Million For Your House in New England Without Selling It
Now, when I lived in Florida, I had lived with one of my friends near a golf course, and let me tell you, the number of golf balls that we picked up around the house was ridiculous. I mean it's not like everyone is an amazing golfer, so of course, some balls would be hit out of the golf course and in our yard.
According to Boston.com, one family in Kingston, MA, won almost $5 million in a lawsuit against a Country Club. Basically what happened was that they purchased their house knowing that it would be located next to a golf course, however, when they moved in it was not golf season yet.
Well, I'm sure you guessed it, the MA couple got experienced the same thing. Their house kept getting hit by golf balls, something that they were not expecting to happen when they moved in.
WMTW Channel 8 states that the family purchased the house back in 2017 knowing that their house would be near the golf course's 15th hole.
According to Boston.com, the family collected seven hundred golf balls around their house. Some of the balls had even broken windows and dented the siding of the house.
Due to the damages, the residents decided to pursue legal action and according to WMTW, sued their neighbors (Indian Pond Country Club). The family was awarded a total of $4.9 million.
So, if you are looking to get almost $5 million for your home in New England without selling it, it seems that living near a Country Club could be the right course of action. However, it doesn't come without any consequences.
