Here’s Something You Don’t See Everyday in South Portland Maine
Well, he doesn't have to deal with high gas prices.
Honestly, these days, it's hard to be surprised by anything and yet, this did surprise me.
That is a dude on Maine Mall Road rocking a unicycle. Maine Mall Road is not a back road, it's a major road by the uh, Maine Mall. As you can tell by his lack of attire, it was during the warm spell we had recently.
Thanks, Covid. Why am I thanking Covid? Because I swear it's made me more observant. Plus, it's made me appreciate the little things. Like a license plate that made me laugh out loud!
I've also been grateful and more adventurous. Well, a little bit. I tried some food that I don't honestly think pre Covid I would have. I had no idea what it was, but I tried it anyway. I mean, it was served with jerk chicken, so I knew it had to be something yummy.
That's a glazed plantain and it was delicious. I finished both without knowing what I ate. I had to ask someone. Hey, file this under you learn something new every day. I thought they might be some kind of hot pepper. Nope.
But the best little part was seeing a couple of listeners who were kids when I last saw them. About 15 years ago brothers Michael and Anthony, came to our Santa celebration the station did. They did it a couple of years in a row. They were sweet kids who I haven't seen since that time all those years ago. They stopped by to say hi and update us on what they are up to. What a great visit.
What the hell is my point? Life is weird and hard...appreciate the little things.
