Hundreds of Mainers marched on Portland City Hall on Sunday afternoon to send a message to president-elect Donald Trump and congressional Republicans: Don't repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Chellie Pingree, a Democrat who represents Maine's first congressional district in the US House of Representatives, joined other officials, including Portland Mayor Ethan Strimling in rallying the crowd.

Donald Trump and members of congressional Republican leadership have said that it is a "top goal" to repeal the Affordable Care Act, President Obama's signature law. If it is repealed without a replacement law enacted simultaneously, up to 25 million Americans, and as many as 9 million children, would stand to lose health care coverage.
