Any living, breathing female between the ages of 13 and 30 has probably heard of "Pretty Little Liars". It's the show about four (plus or minus one) friends at a charming high school living perfect, normal lives... Except their every move is watched by some unknown text message stalker with a tendency for drama and sometimes even murder.

Shay Mitchell plays Emily in "Pretty Little Liars", the singular voice of reason throughout the show. Since the show's start, Shay has racked up over 14.1 million Instagram followers, has written a massively successful book, and launched a YouTube channel serving up lifestyle videos to over 1.7 million subscribers. She's a massive star. Saturday afternoon she ate her way through the best city on the east coast: Portland, Maine.

My friend Jess sent me a text Saturday afternoon saying she spotted Shay Mitchell using the Portland, Maine SnapChat filter. In true "Pretty Little Liars" fashion, Jess and I put our creeping skills to the test and hopped in my car to track down Shay. Based on the food she was eating, we determined she was at Big J's Chicken Shack.

Admittedly, it isn't super cool to stalk and bother any person regardless of their fame, but she also made it very public where she was and what she was doing. She posted 10+ SnapChats documenting her stops in town as she shot a video for Off the Menu. I even made an appearance in one of them! That's me, behind the sandwich.

Jess and I tracked her down and after ordering some sweet potato fries and letting her get through her insanely delicious-looking meal, we introduced ourselves.

Shay Mitchell was kind, gracious, and friendly. She didn't shut us down when we interrupted her meal (a pair of teenage girls and their parents had already asked for photos with her). She asked if we were born and raised here and we chatted about her other projects.

I thanked her for coming to Portland and showcasing our robust culinary scene before asking to snap a photo. Also on her list of places to visit was Slab for pizza and Rhum for drinks. I joked not to steal the adorable cups from Rhum not realizing the owner was sitting immediately to her left. Whoops.
