Portland Brewery Creates an IPA That Can’t Get Any More Maine
Well, this is an IPA that I don't think anyone saw coming. Portland's Bellflower Brewing teamed up with Other Half Brewing in New York City to create an IPA named after Maine's tradition of holding bean suppers. It's called...you guessed it....Bean Suppah.
My first thought when I saw this new brew was, "Does it taste like beans and hotdogs? The answer seems to be no, but it does sound like the perfect IPA to have while enjoying a bean supper.
Here's how Belleflower Brewing describes this unique IPA in their announcement of Bean Suppah on their Facebook page:
Other Half helped us devise this super saturated IPA featuring Mosaic Cryo, Mosaic Lupomax, and Nectaron hops. Brewed with a Pilsner malt, flaked wheat and oats, Bean Suppah pours a hazy pale gold color, bursting with aromas of peach candies, cannabis, and pine. The palate follows with notes of piña colada and citrus, all wrapped up in a satisfyingly fluffy mouthfeel.
They also note that it is available for a limited time only at their taproom at 66 Cove Street in Portland. They also note that there will be extremely limited distribution of Bean Suppah, so your best bet is to visit Belleflower Brewing to give it a try.
If Belleflower Brewing wants to celebrate the release of Bean Suppah, they should have an actual bean supper in the taproom. A good helping of some B&M baked beans and red hot dogs. How cool would that be? That idea is totally free guys.
