Irresponsible Breeding Lead to Two Deaf & Blind Puppies, Now They Need Homes in Maine
Spirit and Sky are two Australian Shepherd/Catahoula mix 10-week old puppies in Stow, Maine. Spirit and Sky are special puppies as they are both deaf and blind.
These sweet pups were the result of "irresponsible breeding practices". Two merle colored dogs were bred together, leading to Sky and Spirit's handicaps.
Despite their handicaps, Long Journey to a New Beginning Animal Rescue says the puppies are well-adjusted and like other dogs.
Of course, these dogs will require a special family. They do not need to be adopted together, however, the rescue will give preference to an active home. Another dog in the home is required, presumably to act as a nanny dog to Sky or Spirit.
Can you give Sky or Spirit a loving home who will work to give them a full, happy life despite their handicaps?
Please, adopt and don't shop. Help end irresponsible breeding practices by working with an animal rescue or adoption agency to find the perfect pet for your lifestyle and family.
