The opening shot of ABC's new "hit" show "The Family" is a billboard welcoming you to the fictional town of Red Pines, Maine. Any real Mainah will tell you why that's not even possible: Billboards are illegal in Vacationland. FAIL!

According to the show's website on ABC.com, the drama follows a family from Maine and the events surrounding the kidnapping of someone... who was held in an oil refinery. We have oil refineries in Maine? That's news to us! One of the characters also makes a stop at the "governor's mansion," whatever that is. Did they mean the Blaine House? We're not even really sure.

From the official description on ABC.com:

ABC's new thriller The Family follows the return of a politician’s young son who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier. As the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his family, suspicions emerge—is he really who he says he is?

The Family stars Joan Allen as Claire, Alison Pill as Willa, Margot Bingham as Sergeant Nina Meyer, Zach Gilford as Danny, Liam James as Adam, Floriana Lima as Bridey, Madeleine Arthur as Young Willa, Rarmian Newton as Young Danny, Rupert Graves as John and Andrew McCarthy as Hank.

Hey... at least there aren't any really bad Maine accents. Remember "Maine Justice" on SNL?
